Artsapalooza First Friday set for Sept. 7

Aug 20

It’s all about the arts as First Friday presents “Artsapalooza” in September. From hands-on art projects to art exhibits and more, you’ll find it all from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in downtown Kokomo.

A highlight of the evening will be the opening of the 2018-19 exhibit in Artists Alley located next to Artworks Gallery.

Many, many more details to come, but here’s a taste of what’s being planned around downtown so far:

• Bona Vista’s downtown gift store will be offering free face paint to families and will be creating art outside with chalk. Many different art pieces will be available at the store for purchase.

• Your Other Left Line Dancing will demonstrate urban/soul line dancing and also offer quick dance lessons.

• Enjoy some hors d’oeuvres and drinks while taking in the artwork of local artist Sam Prifogle on display at the Bohemian Tattoo Club.

• AT&T will have giveaways and also a chance to win a pair of LG Tones.

• Thermodyn will host a silent auction for art prints provided by Sarah Luginbill. They will also be offering a “build your own duct system” activity for children. Kids can construct systems with PVC pipe and test their creations by blowing air with a fan through their construct.
