Sep 04

It’s all about the arts as First Friday presents “Artsapalooza” on Friday, Sept. 7. From hands-on art projects to art exhibits and more, you’ll find it all from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in downtown Kokomo.

Even though there’s rain in the forecast for this evening, there will still be plenty of chances to experience art all around downtown during Artsapalooza.

At Tin Man Brewing Co., you can become the art as Hannah Ruckman will be selling caricatures. Prices will vary, with the offerings including head sketches, colored head sketches and full body paint sketches. The brewery will also have Ruckman’s art on display.

Enjoy some hors d’oeuvres and drinks while taking in the artwork of local artist Sam Prifogle on display at the Bohemian Tattoo Club. The Sycamore Ridge Chapter of the Embroiders Guild of America will share its fiber creations, offer demonstrations and give away a free project kit to those interested in learning the art of embroidery.

At The Palette Room, you can create the art. They’ll be celebrating their grand re-opening at their new location on the third floor of Artworks Gallery, 210 N. Main St. They’ll have a watercolor craft for kids and several grand opening prize drawings.

IU Kokomo Downtown Gallery will host an alumni art exhibit as well as pieces by current students. They will also have a print sale.
